Multiple Assessment Appointments
Multiple sessions to accurately capture a nuanced picture of the individual’s behaviours and social interactions.
Detailed Questionnaires
Questionnaires completed by the patient and, if applicable, parents and teachers, providing insight into behaviours and experiences across various settings.
Professional Report Writing
A comprehensive report summarising the assessment outcomes, including recommendations for intervention and support.


Diagnostic Tools Used in an Autism Assessment
- WISC-V / WPPSI-IV: Cognitive assessments to gauge cognitive capabilities in individuals aged 2 and above, including adults.
- ADOS-2: A semi-structured assessment specifically designed to observe and diagnose autism by assessing communication, social interactions, play, and repetitive behaviours.
- ASRS (Autism Spectrum Rating Scales): Standardised tools completed by parents and teachers, which assess behaviours associated with autism in children and adolescents aged 2-18.
- BASC-3: Behavioural and emotional assessments from the perspectives of teachers, parents, and the individual, highlighting factors affecting social and academic interactions.
- VINELAND-3: A semi-structured interview tool that assesses adaptive behaviour, measuring practical, social, and conceptual skills needed for everyday functioning.
Autism Assessment Fees and Rebates
The base fee for our comprehensive Autism Assessment is $3,308 for children and $3,320 for adults. Depending on the specific tests required, there may be additional charges, and we provide full fee clarity following the initial appointment. Rebates may be available as follows:
Medicare Rebates
Rebates may be available for eligible patients with Medicare. Please contact us for more details.
Private Health Insurance
Rebates may be available for certain assessment sessions for patients with psychology coverage. Please contact us for more details.
Additional Rebates
Medicare rebates may apply to certain assessment sessions for patients under the age of 25. Please contact us for more details.


Booking Process
Our booking process is streamlined to make accessing autism assessment services straightforward and supportive:
Initial Appointment (50 minutes)
This appointment is conducted for adults or parents of children being assessed. The cost is $300, which may be claimed through Medicare or Private Health Insurance.
Assessment Confirmation
After the initial appointment, we confirm the assessments required and provide a complete fee estimate. The total assessment fee includes all appointments and report writing.
Assessment Appointments
These appointments are where the formal assessments takes place. During this session, the clinician guides the individual through a series of standardised tests and are given access to online questionnaires designed to gather detailed information relevant to the evaluation.
Feedback Appointment (50 minutes)
The assessment concludes with a feedback session where the comprehensive report is shared. This appointment, also $300, may be claimed with Medicare or Private Health Insurance.
