Clinical Psychologist
Jedda is a clinical psychologist who has worked with children, adolescents, young people and their parents in both public and private mental health services since 2010. Her therapeutic interventions are informed by attachment theory, current scientific knowledge about the impact of grief and trauma on developing brains, contemporary understanding of neuro-diversity and the real-life impact of our complex social world on young people.
Therapy aims to support the development of healthy parent-child relationships and build parents’ confidence in responding to their children’s complex symptoms and behaviours. It also aims to build the independent emotional regulation capacities and support the development of meaningful lives for young people experiencing mental illness.
Jedda uses both directive and non-directive play therapy, art based therapy, psycho-education, mindfulness, CBT , psychodynamic therapy and EMDR. Treatment plans are developed based on thorough assessment.
Jedda strives to practice in a way that respects both individual differences and cultural diversity.
