A Gentle Creative Pathway to Emotional Wellbeing
At TT Psychology, art therapy provides a warm, supportive pathway for patients of all ages to explore emotions and develop coping strategies through creative expression. Rather than relying on words alone, art therapy Malvern sessions offer a safe, playful, and sensory-considerate environment where thoughts and feelings may be gently processed in a way that suits each individual.
Romi Kupfer, our qualified Art Therapist and Counsellor, facilitates each session by weaving together creative modalities and therapeutic approaches to support emotional wellbeing, self-awareness, and personal growth. No artistic experience is needed, this is a warm, safe space where everyone is encouraged to explore and create with joy and without judgement.

Understanding Art Therapy
Who is art therapy suitable for?
Art therapy is typically welcoming to everyone; children, adolescents, young adults, and adults alike may all find value in therapeutic creative expression. There is no need to be artistic or have any prior experience, as each session is personalised to suit your comfort level and goals.
What does a typical art therapy session involve?
Art therapy sessions typically run for 50 or 80 minutes and may include creative activities, supported reflection, and gentle therapeutic conversations where suitable. Both individual and group sessions are available to ensure all participants feel at ease.
Do I need to bring anything to my art therapy session?
Unless your clinician has suggested otherwise, you won’t need to bring anything to your session. All art materials are provided as part of our fees. We do, however, recommend wearing clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We have an extensive range of arts and crafts materials, including beads, stickers, stencils, collage materials, paint, clay, sand tray, figurines, drawing supplies, pencils, crayons, textas, sewing materials, and more!
How are art therapy goals established?
Romi works collaboratively with you (or with parents/carers for our younger patients) to set clear, supportive goals based on your needs, interests, and preferred way of working. These goals can adapt and change over the course of your therapy as required.
Are any rebates available for art therapy?
Full details regarding fees, rebates, and payment options are available on our Fees page. NDIS rebates are available for eligible participants, and no referral is necessary. Our team will ensure you have a clear understanding of your options before your first session.
How is art therapy different from conventional talk therapy?
Unlike traditional talk therapy, art therapy allows people to express emotions and thoughts through visual, tactile, and creative mediums. It’s thought to be particularly helpful for those who find it difficult to articulate their experiences verbally (such as children or those processing trauma).
How to Book
Make a Booking
Reach out online or by phone, and our friendly team will help arrange your initial parent appointment at a time that suits you.
Initial Parent Session
For children and teenagers, the process starts with a parent-only session in which we explore the child's background, interests, strengths, and current challenges to help inform the art therapy approach.
Initial Patient Session
The first art therapy session focuses on helping the child feel comfortable in the creative space. Activities are gentle and exploratory, and a parent may be asked to join for part of a session if it supports the child's confidence.
Ongoing Sessions
Following the initial sessions, your art therapist will recommend a plan for ongoing sessions, detailing goals, session frequency, and any additional supports that may help the child express themselves, process experiences, and grow through creative work.
