Art Therapy Armadale

A Creative Path to Emotional Wellbeing

Art therapy at TT Psychology offers a calming, supportive avenue for patients of all ages to explore emotions and develop practical coping tools through creative expression. Moving beyond words alone, art therapy Armadale creates a safe, playful, and sensory-friendly space where thoughts and feelings may be explored and processed at a pace that feels right for each person.

Romi Kupfer, our qualified Art Therapist and Counsellor, facilitates each session by weaving together creative modalities and therapeutic approaches to support emotional wellbeing, self-awareness, and personal growth. No artistic experience is needed, this is a warm, safe space where everyone is encouraged to explore and create with joy and without judgement.

Who Is Art Therapy For?

Art therapy has no age limit or skill restrictions; instead, it offers a relaxed, interactive approach that people of all ages may benefit from.

Art therapy may be well-suited to people in Armadale who:

Prefer creative or hands-on expression

Find talk-based therapy overwhelming or challenging

May benefit from sensory-safe or play-based approaches

Want a gentle, non-pressured way to explore emotions

Respond well to movement, colour, imagination, and tactile activities

Need a supportive way to build emotional vocabulary or self-awareness

This approach may be especially well-suited to children and teenagers who flourish with structure, creativity, and a warm environment, as well as adults seeking a meaningful, expressive pathway towards greater self-understanding and emotional wellbeing.

Getting to Know Art Therapy

Art therapy is typically welcoming to everyone; children, adolescents, young adults, and adults alike may all find value in therapeutic creative expression. There is no need to be artistic or have any prior experience, as each session is personalised to suit your comfort level and goals.

Art therapy sessions typically run for 50 or 80 minutes and may include creative activities, supported reflection, and gentle therapeutic conversations where suitable. Both individual and group sessions are available to ensure all participants feel at ease.

Unless your clinician has advised otherwise, there is no need to bring anything to your session. All art materials are included as part of our fees. We do recommend wearing clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. We stock an extensive range of arts and crafts materials, including beads, stickers, stencils, collage materials, paint, clay, sand tray, figurines, drawing supplies, pencils, crayons, textas, sewing materials, and more!

Romi collaborates with you (or with parents/carers for our younger patients) to develop clear, supportive goals that are grounded in your needs, interests, and preferred way of working. These goals are flexible and may be adjusted over the course of your therapy as circumstances change.

Comprehensive information about fees, rebates, and payment options is available on our Fees page. NDIS rebates are available for eligible participants with no referral required. Our team will walk you through your options to ensure you feel informed and prepared before your first session.

Where traditional talk therapy relies primarily on verbal communication, art therapy offers an alternative pathway for expressing emotions and thoughts through visual, tactile, and creative mediums. This approach may be particularly beneficial for those who find it difficult to put their experiences into words, including children or those processing difficult or traumatic experiences.

We welcome patients from all areas of Melbourne, including Caulfield, St Kilda, Balaclava, Ripponlea, Elwood, Armadale, Prahran, Brighton, Gardenvale, Ormond, Glen Huntly, Malvern, Windsor, Bentleigh, Mckinnon, Carnegie, Hampton and more suburbs.
