Comprehensive ADHD Assessments to Support Mental Health
An ADHD assessment in Melbourne may provide useful insight into difficulties with attention, focus and self-regulation. Whether you are seeking an assessment for yourself or a young person, the approach of our psychologists near Elwood is compassionate, neuro-affirming and tailored to the individual.
ADHD may involve challenges with attention and organisation, hyperactivity and impulsivity, or a combination of these. The way it presents can vary considerably from person to person.
What to Expect During an ADHD Assessment
Our ADHD assessments for Elwood residents follow a structured and personalised process to help build a detailed picture of your experiences and support appropriate recommendations. This includes:
Multiple Assessment Appointments
A series of appointments helps us build a detailed understanding of the individual’s presentation, needs and experiences.
Detailed Questionnaires
Questionnaires may be completed by the individual, parents and teachers, depending on the circumstances, to gather information about behaviours and experiences in different settings.
Professional Report Writing
The assessment findings are presented in a detailed report, providing an overview of ADHD-related symptoms and practical recommendations for support.

Tools Utilised in an ADHD Assessment
- WISC-V / WPPSI-IV: These tools assess cognitive abilities across children and adults, including areas such as memory, processing speed and related thinking skills.
- BASC-3: This behavioural assessment gathers information about emotional and behavioural patterns from the perspectives of the individual, parents and teachers.
- ACE / ACE+: This semi-structured interview supports ADHD evaluation, with ACE used for children and ACE+ for adults.
- Conners 3: Designed for children aged 6–18, these rating scales gather information about ADHD symptoms from parents, teachers and the individual.
